What happens to all that stuff on Antiques Roadshow once the cameras roll out of town? Detours is a new podcast from the producers of Antiques Roadshow that picks up where the appraisals left off. Host and longtime Roadshow producer, Adam Monahan takes you behind the scenes of some of the mysteries, mishaps, and even phone calls from the FBI that happen behind the scenes on America’s favorite antiques show. I led the team with PBS’ Antiques Roadshow and PRX to pilot, produce and launch this new podcast, nominated for a 2021 Podcast Academy “Ambie” for Podcast of the Year.

In this sample episode (below), Adam attempts to verify what could be one of the most valuable objects to come through Roadshow: a flag from JFK’s famed Navy boat, the PT-109. Is it real? That’s a million-dollar question, literally.
